This fully refurbished 1946 Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser has been meticulously upgraded to near PA-18 Super Cub performance standards. Powered by a 150 HP Lycoming O-320-A2B (67 SMOH, overhauled in 2019), it features Cleveland wheels and brakes, Micro Aerodynamics vortex generators, Steve’s Aircraft brake master cylinders, and Univair sealed struts. The aircraft has 3,648 total hours and was completely rebuilt with new Polyfiber fabric, control cables, windows, and paint in 2024.
The IFR-certified avionics suite includes a Garmin GNS-420 IFR GPS/COMM, Garmin GTX-335 Mode S transponder with ADS-B Out, Bendix/King KI-208 VOR indicator, FlightCom 403 intercom, Stratus dual USB charge ports, and a Davtron M303 digital OAT/volt gauge. Additional modifications include a rear baggage compartment with a baggage door mod, rear battery mod, metal-skinned rear belly with an Orion 360 LED strobe, and a tail stiffener allowing for a gross weight increase if PA-18 gear is installed.
The Pontiac Red over Glacier White exterior is accented with custom graphics, while the interior features new two-tone tan and taupe vinyl upholstery with vinyl flooring. The aircraft is equipped with 800×6 tundra tires, with wheel pants available for 600×6 tires, and dual Whelen landing and taxi lights with Max-Pulse wig-wag and flashing controller.
With 38-gallon fuel capacity and a 655 lb useful load, this PA-12 is an outstanding blend of classic style and modern capability, ready for serious backcountry flying or cross-country adventures. Serious inquiries only.
